The health minister Jane Ruth Aceng noted that the 30,000 pellet capacity national warehouse will make it possible for them to procure and store large quantities of drugs so as to do away with drug stock-outs in health facilities.

The Government is set to expand the storage capacity at the National Medical Stores (NMS) in Entebbe, says the ministry of health permanent secretary, Dr. Diana Atwine. Atwine made the disclosure at the signing of grant agreements between the Global Fund and The Government of Uganda.

The health minister Jane Ruth Aceng noted that the 30,000 pellet capacity national warehouse will make it possible for them to procure and store large quantities of drugs so as to do away with drug stock-outs in health facilities.

Aceng noted that construction of the warehouse is already underway after the Prime Minister, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, broke the ground last Wednesday.

Aceng noted that the warehouse is slated to be completed by December 2018.
Atwine thanked the Global Fund for the aid rendered to Uganda, noting that the Global Fund has contributed one third of the cost for constructing the new warehouse.
