31 U20 players called up for COSAFA

The Hippos will kick off the preparations on November 27th at Namboole Stadium

Frank Tumwesigye one of the most exciting players in the Uganda Premier League is part of the 31-man squad that was summoned to prepare for the COSAFA U20 Challenge Cup.

The Vipers midfielder is being touted as the next big star of Ugandan football and his call up comes after he sat his UCE exams at St Mary's Kitende.

The tournament will run from December 6th-16th in Zambia and Uganda was invited as a guest team.

"The squad was selected based on continuity from the first edition of the FUFA Juniors League, players who featured in the AFCON U17 Qualifiers in 2014 and the Uganda Premier League who fall in the U20 category," FUFA youth development officer Bashir Mutyaba said.

The Hippos will kick off the preparations on November 27th at Namboole Stadium ahead of their opening game against the hosts Zambia on December 6th.

Matia Lule is in charge of the team as head coach and will be assisted by James Odoch  and Sam Kawalya.
