Mukono Police boss perishes in road accident

Muhoozi Rwego died in a motor accident while chasing after robbers on Kisoga-Katosi road

Mukono Division Police Flying Squad boss David Muhoozi Rwego has died in a motor accident while chasing after robbers on Kisoga-Katosi road in Mukono.

Other five Police officers were also injured in the accident.

These are Julius Ssebbaale, Sam Asiimwe,  Emmanuel Abbey, Alex Nantamu and one only identified as George, all attached to Flying Squad Mukono Police Division. They were rushed to Nsambya Hospital in critical condition.

The Police spokesman, Emilian Kayima said the deacesed has been with his other flying squad officers chasing after a group of robbers. 

The officers were traveling in a saloon car, registration number UAT 219Q belonging to Muhoozi.

Shocked Police officers at Mukono Police Station

It alleged that the driver lost control  then car left the road and hit a big tree trunk.

They were on Kisoga-Katosi road just few meters away from Kojja Health Centre IV in Ntenjeru sub-county in Mukono district.  

Robinson Kiyaga,  the Ntenjeru sub-county chairperson said the officers  had already fired at the suspected robbers' car and deflated its tyres and that it was moving on rims.

However, the robbers managed to escape after the accident.
