Rhinos 46 Warriors 26

The Shell Rimula Rhinos started the 2017/18 Nile Special Premier Rugby League campaign with a convincing 46-26 win over Warriors.

Brian Makalama's boys took an early lead and by half-time led 27-8 in the match played at Legends Kampala Rugby Club.

Mathias Ochwo and Scot Oluoch scored a try each, while Alhaji Oduka weighed in with a hat-trick of tries. Eric Mula added two tries for Rhinos.

All penalties and conversions were scored by Kevin Makmot to hand Rhinos an early lead on the league table with five points after they secured a bonus point.

"We won but the boys were excited with the score board, committed so many errors which we are going to work on before the next game," Makalama stated.

Despite a bulky pack, Warriors got several turnovers against Rhinos something that worried Makalama.

"It was our first game and it's good that we won, but we have to work on those mistakes the boys committed," Makalama stated.
