The district has toughened its stance on teachers in recent years

At least 16 primary school teachers in Apac district are to face disciplinary action over abandoning their work stations.

The district Inspector of schools, Andrew Omunu said the teachers whose identities have not been revealed, are to appear before the District Service Commission anytime soon.

He said some of the teachers are engaged in bodaboda business while others opened mobile money kiosks at the expense of their school duties.

He noted that the district is not ready to tolerate such behaviour that could impact negatively on the academic performance of pupils.

Apac has toughened its stance on teachers in recent years in a bid to improve on the quality of education in the district.
