47 drivers register for season ending Oryx Heart Beat Rally

The conformation of all the top drivers has raised the stakes for the event

By close of entries on Saturday, forty seven drivers had confirmed their participation in the Oryx Heart Beat Rally scheduled for this weekend (Nov. 18-20) in the districts of Masaka, Kalungu and Mpigi.

Top crews in the race include, Jas Mangat, Ronald Ssebuguzi, Christakis Fitidis, Arthur Blick Jr, Ambrose Byona, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Ponsiano Lwakataka, Godfrey Lubega, Duncan Mubiru, Omar Mayanja, Kuku Ranjit, Yasin Nasser and Musa Kabega.

The conformation of all the top drivers has raised the stakes for the event which is the final round of the National Rally Championship (NRC) and will decide the 2017 champion.

Christakis Fitidis navigated by Eric Nzamwita in a Mitsubishi Evo10 leads the NRC standings with 375 points, 70 points ahead of second placed Mubiru and 75 ahead of third placed Ronald Ssebuguzi.

The two day event will cover 145.2kms of competitive stages and 120.7kms liaison distance.

Meanwhile Hassan Alwi has also welcomed the return of Jas Mangat saying he provides the opportunity to gauge his speed before next season because Mangat is a faster driver.
