The president of Uganda Law Society, Francis Gimara, wants the Government to expedite negotiations with public prosecutors, so they can resume work.

Prosecutors have laid down their tools for a month now, protesting government failure to enhance their salaries. The move has frustrated work in courts.

Gimara, while announcing the East African Law Society conference, which will be held in Kampala starting the 15th of this month, said prosecutors' concerns should be addressed to return functionality to the judiciary system.

Gimara said the upcoming conference will help lawyers in the region appreciate the East Africa integration process and devise means of coping with new technologies in the legal profession.
