Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda has promised to assist Kagadi Hospital.

Rugunda, who was in Kagadi to officiate at a thanksgiving function for Buyaga East MP  Eric Musana, also visited Kagadi Government Hospital.

The hospital's medical superintendent, Isaac Kakibogo, requested that the facility to be elevated to a regional referral hospital, due to the high numbers of patients it receives.

Kakibogo expressed concern that the hospital has few staff and no government medical officer.

He said the Infectious Diseases Institute posted four medical officers and one consultant gynecologist who have done a great job.

In response, Rugunda said he will look into the issues raised as soon as possible.

He asked the district chief administrative officer, Malik Mahaba, to present the issues to his office.
