Promote culture to attract tourists, govt urged

The chairperson of the Urban Authorities Association of Uganda, Majid Batambuze, has called on the Government to invest in promoting cultural tourism to attract foreign revenue.

Currently, tourism is the highest foreign exchange earner for the country.

Batambuze, while announcing the source of the Nile cultural festival, slated for the 26th of this month, said the Government should allocate resources to put the required infrastructure at cultural sites, which will bring in revenue and create employment opportunities.
