With their long time rivalry, volleyball fans expected a tight and highly contested fixture when the KAVC and Sport-S men's volleyball sides meet, but that was not case as the latter got an easy 3-1 win at the league played at Lugogo on Thursday.

Sport-S started off aggressively winning the first set 25-19 and then added the second set 25-18, before KAVC replied with 25-9 win which gave them hope of recovering.

However, Sport-S led by Dickens Otim determined to make no mistake came in the fourth set too strong for KAVC to handle.

KAVC coach, Sheila Omuriwe attributed the defeat to the players who were not ready for the game.

"Yes we could win this game but the mistakes we committed on court were a sign that it was a bad day for us," she stated citing the over five points conceded due to serving off pitch in almost all sets.

"It is good we have identified these weaknesses earlier enough and we shall correct them and come back for revenge in the play-offs," Omuriwe added.

In the women category, defending champions Ndejje University Elite whipped Espoir 3-0 in a one sided game.

Ndejje won the three sets 25-10, 25-23, 25-21 but their coach Johnson Kawenyera believes that his team has a lot to work on.
