MD Chris Nugent expressed the company’s commitment towards sport in Uganda

Plascon Paints continued to strengthen its brand in the Ugandan market by unveiling new kits for its sports teams Plascon Football Club and Plascon Mongers on Wednesday morning.

Speaking at launch of the new kits at their head office in Kampala, Plascon Uganda managing director Chris Nugent expressed the company's commitment towards sport in Uganda.

"Today is another milestone. We're handing over new kits to Plascon FC. Unfortunately, last season we were relegated to the Big League but I'm sure this season we'll be promoted to the top flight and we are also going to give the rugby team, the Plascon Mongers who recently won the fifth circuit of the 7s tournament a new kit too.

This is just re-affirming our commitment to sport in Uganda, and we'll carry on. Sport is good for the community and it's good for our brand. This will carry on for the foreseeable future and we have no plans to reduce our level of sponsorship." Nugent said.

Plascon FC players led by captain Desmond Kyobe were also present and he believes his charges will derive motivation from the move.

"It has boosted the players. There's been a lot of changes and we are going to work very hard to get back to the top flight because we believe we are meant to be at the top" Kyobe said.

Also present was the football club's chairman Joseph Opio and the public Yusuf Nampala the club's public relations officer.
