Kadaga suspends minister Kibuule, 24 opposition MPs

The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has suspended 25 Members of Parliament for misconduct during the Tuesday Afternoon age limit debate.

The Speaker asked the MPs to exit the chambers immediately.

Kadaga told the House that: "I have established that Hon. Ronald Kibuule brought a weapon into the House as he did not go through the security check."

The suspended MPs include: Ronald Kibuule the Mukono North MP and state minister for water, Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West), Monica Amoding, Dr Sam Lyomoki (Workers), Moses Kasibante (Rubaga North), Betty Nambooze (Mukono Municiplaity), Robery Kyagulanyi (Kyadondo East) and Mutebi (Mityana Municipality).

Others are Mohammed Nsereko (Kampala Central), Anang Odur, William Nzohgu, Angelian Osegge, Gilbert Olanyah, Wilfred Niwagaba, Odonga Otto, Nandala Mafabi, Mubarak Munyangwa, John Baptist Nambeshe, Mbwatekamwa, Mugume, Sewungu, Tinkasiimire, Muwanga Kivumbi and Medard Ssegona.

A scuffle ensued when suspended MPs refused to vacate the House. Security personnel were called in to effect the eviction. Chairs, microphone stands and others items were broken.

MP Kyagulanyi and Karuhanga were lifted shoulder-high by the security personnel out of the chambers.

A female legislator clad in a red dress was seen using a broken microphone stand to hit a male colleague.

The movie-like episode stretched after the Speaker adjourned the House a for a few minutes to allow the suspended MPs get out.
