After failing to lift the Guinness National Sevens circuit, Hima Cement Heathens coach Muhammad Athio has turned his focus on the Uganda Cup due in November.

Athio in an interview told New Vision that he is not resting and he has started preparations for the Cup.

"We are the defending champions of the Uganda Cup and we have regrouped so that we prepare ourselves to defend out trophy," Athio Stated.

"Yes we didn't win the overall trophy but winning the two legs of Legends Pirates leg and the Kitaka memorial was an indication that my boys are in good shape to deliver but we have to correct a few weaknesses," Athio explained.

Heathens won the national league and had targeted a treble, but fell short when they lost the 7s circuit to Betway Kobs who defended their crown successfully.

"Players like Kenneth Okong, has proved to me that they can see the try line and sharpening the attacking line will make us good to go for the Uganda Cup and that gives me confidence," Athio stated.

Heathens will however face tough challenge from Betway Kobs, Buzz Pirates, Toyota Buffaloes and Plascon Mongers.
