The retired Human resource manager and curtain designer advises that before anything, one should first get a colour theme for the room they  wish to furnish.

"For my clients, I prefer to visit the home. I look at tiles, walls, furniture and other room accessories to ascertain the best patterns that will harmonize the space," she elaborates.

Curtains should blend well with other elements in the room like pillow scatters and couches.
