The Secretary General of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has decried intrigue within the party ranks, saying it is "unbecoming".

Lumumba, who was on Wednesday interacting with NRM party members in the eastern region district of Sironko, said the intrigue in NRM is akin to "a football player who scores in his own net."

"It is an unbecoming behaviour," she said, wondering why NRM district party members in Sironko testified against party MPs in court.

To end the emerging intrigue within NRM, Lumumba has called for reconciliation and unity.

The NRM secretary general, who has camped in the eastern region to execute party-related duties, has also pledged to inform President Yoweri Museveni, the NRM party chairperson, about the possibility of bailing out  former Budadiri East party flag bearer, Rogers Musala.

Musala was jailed two days ago for failing to pay sh60 million, arising from court electoral petitions.
