Nakasiga crowned Miss Buganda Tourism

Maria Nakasiga, a graduate of Information Technology, is the winner of this year's Miss Buganda Tourism Beauty Contest. Her victory was announced by Buganda's Deputy minister of tourism,  Rita Namyalo Kisitu, during the kingdom's annual tourism exhibition at Lubiri Palace Grounds, on Sunday.

Nakasiga was crowned by the Nabagereka of Buganda, Sylvia Nagginda, who also presented to her a special gift from Buganda Tourism Board.

"I am grateful to receive this honour. As the kingdom's ambassador of tourism, I will dedicate all my energy and goodwill to promoting the protection and preservation of the environment," Nakasiga said after receiving her crown.

The contest's first runner-up, Resty Nakayondo (from Buddu County) and the second runner up, Beatrice Nakabugo (from Busiro) were also recognised.

Buganda Tourism Board also recognised totems and counties like Mawokota, which performed exceptionally well during the tourism fete.
