Janet Mbabazi and Co secured a redemptive win against KICC at the Entebbe Oval to keep their hopes of a third title alive.

Sam Walusimbi's girls stuck to the task of closing the 36 points gap between them and Tornado Bee who had hoped for a fourth finish despite an uncharacteristic start to the women's cricket season.

"It was a bit shocking for me as manager. I was humbled by how the girls showed heart and faith but then at the end of the day it's a major step worth celebrating" said Sam Walusimbi

The fixture was in another way a crucial one for KICC who would have qualified had they won the double header.

Hope Wanichan took 4 wickets in 3 overs as Franklin Najjumba and Co were restricted to 39 before Jenifer Nabwana's commendable innings where she made 20 not out from 48 balls in game one.

In game two, Evelyn Anyipo struck 12 not out from 10 balls as Wanderers wrapped up their second win of the day.

In the other game at Jinja oval, leaders Olila High School and Jinja SS shared the spoils in the top two teams clash for Olila to end the preliminary round as table leaders.Damali Busingye who spent much of last season in Rwanda claimed 3 wickets in game two as Olila won by 7 wickets.

So this is how it ends with Olila, Jinja SS, Wanders and Pioneer to play in the semifinals..
