With the end of the first round the 2017 National Basketball League (NBL) around the corner, five time champions Betway Power have beefed up their team with the services of Burundian guard, Willy Nijimbere.

Nijimbere was earlier this week added to Power's roster and is scheduled to feature in their remaining three games to end the 11 game first round of the season.

With 7-2 record so far this season, it is safe to say Power has had a great start to the season however Nijimbere's addition is a clear indication that they are not resting on their laurels.

"It is true our performance has been fair enough. But we have also experienced a setback, one thing we don't want to happen again which is where Nijimbere comes in," said Power's coach Arnold Lando.

"We have had some injuries like that of Brian Oduor and with Nijimbere's ability to play various positions we believe his presence will fill the gaps," he added.

Nijimbere a 37-year-old and former MVP in Burundi joins from the country's top side Urunani who he helped win the 2013 and 2014 Zone V Club Championships alongside Oilers' Landry Ndikumana.

Power who next play KIU Titans on Friday, also signed six players in the off season; Sunday Okoth, Sulaiman Bbale, Francis Kasinde, Diego Angemi, Tyrone Martin and Julius Wapera.
