Micho quits Cranes over sh230m in unpaid salary, bonuses

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Sredojević has quit the job, cutting short his three year contract over failure by Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to clear his salary arrears.

Sredojević terminated his contract with FUFA citing outstanding debt of salary and bonuses of sh230m.

The Serbian reportedly activated clause 12d of his contract which reportedly spells out that when FUFA fails to pay the coach's salary for more than three months, then he is free to quit.

The development comes barely a fortnight after refuting claims he is in talks with a Libyan club for a more lucrative coaching job in North Africa.

His contract with FUFA was due to expire in 2018 but there has been uncertainty over his job for some time now.

Sredojević's target was to see that Uganda, who he helped qualify for African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after 39 years of trying this year, qualifies again for the 2019 tournament that will be held in Cameroon.

He was also hopeful that he could help Uganda qualify for 2018 World Cup in Russia.
