Miss Tourism search goes to Kigezi

In Busoga region, Shakira Nabirye, 24, was crowned, while Mary Nakimuli and Rashida Namulondo Muhamad, were first and second runner up respectively.

The search for the 2017/18 Miss Tourism Uganda beauty queen started early this month. The organisers of the beauty pageant kicked off with the regional tours and so far three beauty queens from West Nile, Rwenzori and Busoga regions have already been crowned.

These regional tours this time round started from Busoga region, then headed to Rwenzori region and last weekend the search was taken to West Nile region.

 


In Busoga region, Shakira Nabirye, 24, from Butembe chiefdom was crowned queen, while Mary Nakimuli and Rashida Namulondo Muhamad, were first and second runner up respectively.

In West Nile, Vibian Silivano Shana, 23, from Koboko district emerged winner with Gertrude Jokudu from Moyo coming second and Shamim Bako from Yumbe in third place.

Miss Tourism Rwenzori Region crown was won by Doreen Biira, 23, from Kasese District while first Runner Up was Macklin Biira, and second Runner up was Mary Nakalema.

The regional queens and ambassadors will represent their regions at the national level and its finals will be held in October at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
