Not more than a week ago, Uganda was drawn in Group B of the 2017 AfroBasket to be hosted by Tunisia and Angola in September.

Ranked 21 in Africa, Uganda will compete against Angola ranked 3rd, Central Africa Republic 8th and Morocco 10th in the same group.

National coach Mandy Juruni expects positive results.

"It is obvious that the challenge will be tough but it will also be fair enough for us to compete favourably.  We intend to do our best while at it," said Juruni.

"In my opinion, our opponents' rankings should not be something to worry about. Apart from Angola, we have had a chance to play the other two teams and even if we didn't beat them then, I believe meeting them again gives us a chance to better ourselves."

Uganda met with the Central Africa Republic in their last campaign in 2016.
