The Uganda Cranes home base team captain Geoffrey Serunkuuma regrets missing a penalty which would have given his team a win against South Sudan in the Africa Nations Championship second round qualifier in Juba.

Sserunkuma and Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic said the miss and the eventual draw was an indication that it was not their day to win in Juba.

"We failed to score but had a fair game away. We missed so many goal scoring opportunities including a penalty and had a goal disallowed. We shall polish the weaknesses in the remaining days" Sredojevic told the media.

Sserunkuma has promised to double his efforts in the return leg and ensure Uganda Cranes do advance to the third round of the qualifiers against Rwanda/Tanzania. The two countries also played to a goalless draw in Dar es Salam on Saturday.

The 18-man Uganda Cranes squad returned to the country on Saturday and resumed training for return leg of the qualifiers at Phillip Omondi Stadium yesterday.

Sredojevic has also maintained that his team would complete the task in the return leg with a solid performance at Lugogo in Kampala.
