Zephania Arinaitwe's near perfect performance fueled Uganda's 247 runs triumph against Botswana Wednesday at the Gymkhana ground.

The sallying right hand bat was at his electric best striking the first century of the tournament (139 from 127 balls) as Uganda continued to run riot in the four team tournament. Arinaitwe has come good as the contest progresses, having had a low start.

He has quickly moved his tally to a total of 205 now, 4 runs behind Kenneth Waiswa who leads the charts currently. This is how important these two can be on the side. Waiswa had a half century of 60 before Fred Achelam's 47 as Uganda posted 330 in their 50 alloted overs.

The "Baby Cricket Cranes" have moved another significant step forward towards New Zealand next year and as it stands Uganda would fancy another two wins to seal off the two round robin fixture.

Botswana's Brandon Van Zyl's struck 32 not out, finishing the game as the team's top scorer of the day but Richard Agamire's 6 wicket haul cannot go without mention. His sparkling performance with the ball ensured Botswana were all out for 83.

Thomas Ochieng struck 42 from 49 balls as Kenya won by 107 to maintain the hope of beating log leaders Uganda to the qualifier. Kenya have actually improved in their batting and have registered their first 200 of the tournament

Uganda are still leading with 8 points with two games remaining and resume their campaign against Ghana on Friday at the Gymkhana Ground as the hosts face Botswana at Jaffery Ground. The tournament ends Saturday with the winner qualifying for the World Cup in New Zealand.
