Despite their average displays at the just concluded FIBA 3x3 Basketball U18 World Cup Championship fast track program, first timers team Uganda left Chengdu, China with their heads held high.

According to head coach Hamza Nyambogo, Uganda did a great job in her debut appearance at the World Cup.

Nyambogo's side dropped out in the preliminary stage after losing to Belgium and Romania despite the wins against Jordan and Indonesia.

"For a first timer like Uganda, I think the boys played exceptionally well. They were well organized and had good teamwork. Their performance also raised our ranking which is a good thing for us," said Nyambogo.

Uganda is now ranked 63 in the world in the 3x3 basketball and second in Africa.

Elvis Ssentongo, Fayed Bbale, Henry Okoth and Joseph Dramaza made the squad that represented the country at the world event.
