KCCA's Sserunkuma sweeps club awards

Sserunkuma has scored 33 goals this season for KCCA in all competitions

Geoffrey Sserunkuma couldn't  hide his excitement after being crowned the MVP (Phillip Omondi award) at the KCCA FC awards over the weekend at City Hall,Kampala.

The 34-year-old also walked away with the fans player award and players award commonly known as the Jimmy Kirundi award.

"Am happy for awards but this is all because of God's blessings and hard work. I promise to improve on my performances next season," Sserunkuma stated.

Sserunkuma who has scored 33 goals this season for KCCA in all competitions, received a land title for being the MVP and sh2m for both the fans player award and players' awards. The land title was handled to him by the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, the Executive Director Jennifer Musisi, deputy Lord Mayor Sarah Kanyike and officials of StarTimes who are KCCA's main sponsors.

Paul Musamali who has been KCCA's pillar in defence walked away with the Tom Lwanga award (Best disciplined player) while Sadat Anaku who was the top scorer in the FUFA Junior U-17 League with 27 goals won the Jackson Mayanja award (Best youngest player). Both Musamali and Anaku received sh1m and sh500,000 as prize money for the awards.

Kawempe retained the best fans' branch accolade with sh1m as prize money while Khassim Kyazze received sh500,000 for being the best fan.

Kibuli, a breeding ground for KCCA for the past years, won the chairman's award with a sh1m as prize money.

Jimmy Kirunda, Tom Luwanga, Jackson Mayanja, Frank Kyazze, Paul Ssali are some the club legends that made it to the function. The guests were also treated to entertainment from musician Winnie Nwagi and comedian Salvador
