They rejected my fiancé for being a widow

I am 35 years old and I met a very beautiful charming lady, 32, last year in February. We dated for some time and took her to my parents who welcomed and loved her so much.

It was love at first sight and I'm ready to spend the rest of my life with her. Three months ago I proposed to her and my family and friends supported us until they discovered that she was a widow.

I have no problem with it as she had told me about her husband's death in a fire but my family members have rejected her and vowed not to attend our wedding. My parents say she has course of some sort.

How do I convince them?
