Court set to deliver judgement in acid attack case

The suspect is accused of attacking his girlfriend with acid in 2013

Judge David Batema will deliver judgment on July 31st in the case where Andrew Francis Obirai is accused of attacking his girlfriend with acid.

Batema on Monday set the date for the long awaited judgement that has taken close to four years.

Obirai who is accused of attacking his girlfriend Dorothy Atim with acid in 2013 opted to remain silent before a fully packed court.

It's against that background that the judge set July 31 as judgement day.

However prior to the judgement, the court accessors will be given opportunity to present their opinion to the judge on the case.

Obirai is being represented in court by lawyers Levi Otum and Gabriel Ogire while Josephine Ariong is the state prosecutor.

Atim succumb to the acid burns in March 2014 at Mulago Hospital where she was undergoing treatment.
