This is just a beginning for all of you who have completed today. You need to be so active at your respective club levels when you are developing youth football

FUFA technical director Asuman Lubowa has called upon grassrootcoaches to double their effort if they are to make an impact in developing the next best players in the country right from youthful level.

Asuman said this during the closing ceremony to hand over certificates to a record 45 participants who completed a five day FUFA beginners' coaching course organised by Tangosport Uganda that ended on Friday at Njeru turf.

''This is just a beginning for all of you who have completed today. You need to be so active at your respective club levels when you are developing youth football. At this level you need to teach the youths all the basics on the ball so that they can develop with their confidence high. From now you need five years to undergo other coaching levels from beginners to level 1, CAF C, CAF B, CAF A and CAF Pro,''asserted FUFA's technical director.

FIFA and CAF Instructor Hadijah Namuyamba cited a few basic courses needed for an average beginners' coach to start with.

''We are proud to understand that most of these group members have been so active in coaching but lacked the formal knowledge though, we have taught them the exercise for small sided games because these build more confidence in the young developing players between 16 years and below to play  a possession game most of the time. On the other side we have taught them about the basic things like passing , keeping the ball, heading, shooting well and scoring,'' said Namuyamba.

Jackson Nyima and Bashir Mutyaba are the other instructors that took the participants through training in the five days.
