The chilling murder of a UPDF soldier's wife has left the residents of Abayita Ababiri in Katabi town council in shock.

Police believe Gorrette Nansubuga, who was in advanced stages of pregnancy, was gang-raped before being strangled to death by assailants.

Zakaria Mbabazi, who heads the criminal investigations department of Entebbe, said she was murdered about 10 metres from her place of abode.

The victim's body was then dragged and dumped in garden some 50 metres away.

Investigations are under way.

Nansubuga was the wife to UPDF's Gerald Gwere, who is attached to Masindi barracks.
