WEEKEND PROGGY

Events have popped up and died but there is something peculiar about this Bakiga Nation event which has been organized twice before.

It has a cultural twist which makes it different from these other events that just vend beer and meat. And once again, the organisers are back at it! Bakiga Nation returns Saturday (June 3) at Naguru Hilltop Gardens and it is an all-day long event.

Eddie Ntumwa, the Public Relations Officer for the event, said there will be loads of activities.

“This year’s theme is "Uganda for Bunyonyi kids" which is a charity drive aimed at fundraising life jackets and a mechanized boat for young school going children who find it hard to cross the lake everyday going to the nearby islands for studies. We shall have a lot of activities for our attendees of whom the majority are people from Kigezi region that reside in Kampala.”

The third version of this event dubbed ‘Rukundo Egumeho’ will be a fun filled event which will include Entertainment from kiga cultural troupes, art/poetry, several  Kigezi local artistes, kids’ play area, enturire (local brew) and  lots of food from Kigezi will be on display.

The event is not just for Bakiga but also the friends of the Bakiga. Time to relate!
