Ugandans in Cape Town hold vigil for Ivan Semwanga

Ugandans living in Cape Town held a vigil last night to mourn the late Ivan Semwanga. The vigil was held in Parrow, Cape Town.

It was organised by cash clan brothers in conjunction with Kings Way College and ‘Agali Awamu', an organisation responsible for sending back deceased Ugandans.

During the ceremony, the leader of ‘Cash Clan Brothers', Prince Imran Twahah said they are going to establish a Trust Fund in honour of the late Semwanga.

Twahah disclosed that the Trust Fund will support Ugandans, especially the 'nkuba kyeyos' living in Cape Town and those who come to South Africa.

Many Ugandans who knew Semwenga said he was very generous and helpful to the Ugandan community in South Africa as well as to many local charity organisations. 

Semwenga, the ex-husband to socialite and business woman, Zari Hassan died on Wednesday morning at Steve Biko academic hospital in Pretoria after suffering a stroke and other heart related complications.

Zari announced her ex-husband's death and father of three boys on social media on Thursday morning.

Semwanga was the leader of ‘The Rich Gang'.

His body will be returned tomorrow and buried on Tuesday in Kayunga.
