Onyango named player of the month

The Mamelodi Sundowns player who got injured at the start of last year, has impressed ever since he returned from injury.

Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Dennis Onyango has been voted the ABSA premier Soccer league player for the month of April.

The Mamelodi Sundowns player who got injured at the start of last year, has impressed since returning from injury.

The former SC Villa player kept six clean sheets out of the seven games played in April as Sundowns continued  to  pile pressure on league leaders, Bidvest Wits.  Bidvest Wits are top of the table with 57 points.

Onyango became the first goalkeeper to win the accolade this season. He beat Lebogang Manyama of Cape Town City, Maritzburg United's Kurt Lentjies and Mogakolodi Ngele of Bidvest Wits to the award.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane lost the coach of the month accolade to Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids.
