Married people should learn to love and share work with one another

The Kumi District Police Commander, Felix Mugizi, has warned married couples especially men to stop abandoning domestic work leaving it only to women.

His warning follows the tendency of men leaving home early in the morning to consume alcohol in trading centres.

"Having luxury in the trading centre is good but without food in the stomach it does not help" Mugizi stated.

Mugizi explained that married people should learn to love and share work with one another for the development of a family instead of working solo.

He added that leaving home early morning in favour of alcohol encourages theft since majority of people like gambling.

"Local councils should help Police to sensitize locals on the impact of alcoholism" Mugizi said.

New Vision caught up with Julius Imamut the LC1 chairperson Ariet village, Atutur Sub County in Kumi district who faulted men for abandoning domestic leaving it to women.

He added that men should support their women in agriculture so that they can get enough food for survival in a family.
