Elite League: UCU edge closer to securing playoff spot

UCU Lady Cardinals are a win away from securing a playoff spot in the FUFA Women Elite League.

This comes after their rivals Muteesa 1 Royal University lost to 2-1 to Kawempe Muslim in the Elizabeth Group.

Captain Hasifah Nassuna and Juliet Nalukenge were on target for Kawempe Muslim.

The result left Muteesa third in the group with 19 points, 14 behind Kawempe Muslim. UCU who were not in action are second on 20 points with two games in hand.

Muteesa who are left with one game to end the season, can now only make it back into the playoff picture if UCU lose their games. 

Kawempe Muslim, Uganda Martyrs and Olila are the three teams that have qualified for the playoffs.
