EASTER SUNDAY


Christians in Uganda marked Easter Sunday, to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Hundreds attended prayers in various places of worship across the country.

At St. Paul Cathedral Namirembe in Kampala, Namirembe Bishop Wiberforce Kityo Luwalira received the religious salute from the Boys Brigade before the Easter Service

 

On another hill of Kampala, Rubaga, former UPC President Dr Olara Otunnu and others paid attention during mass inside a fully-packed Rubaga Cathedral

 

Archbishop of Kampala Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga led the Easter Sunday mass

 

Ugandan musician Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi, best known as Bobi Wine, attended mass together with his wife Barbie and children at Rubaga

 

The members of the St. Cecilia Choir, Rubaga led the faithful through the joyful hymns

 

After mass, Archbishop Lwanga posed for a group photo with several high profile people

 

 Elsewhere, Christians praised the risen Lord at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero 

 

Before the Easter service at the same cathedral, Archbishop of Kampala diocese, Most Rev.  Stanley Ntagali had a moment with a child

 

Ishmael Kabananukye, an author, shared a light moment with Archbishop Ntagali after service

 

Meanwhile, The Archbishop Emeritus of Kampala Archdiocese, Emmanuel Cardinal Dr Wamala led mass at St Peter's Catholic Church, Nsambya

 

 

Catholics turned up in hundreds for a holy mass at Busengo sub-parish, Nyarubuye sub-county in Kisoro district

 

Christians of Okao Church of Uganda parish in Amuria district bowed down in prayer during the Easter Sunday service

 

 

 

Children left the main service for their Sunday School at Saluti Church of Uganda Parish Church on Easter Sunday
