Turyanabo said she has been preparing for the past two months and was ready to showcase the efforts of hard work.

The Diana Turyanabo and Jackline Nassimbwa non-title fight will be the highlight as the Golola Talent Academy officially opens up for potential boxers and kickboxers' fights on Good Friday.

It will be Turyanabo's third professional kickboxing against her equally experienced opponent who has fought in more kickboxing fights than her.

Youngsters Shamir Kendo and Hamid Mulondo as well as the duel between Herbert Mugumya and Kenneth Mwanje will also be on show for the kick boxing fans.

Despite weighing two kilos more than her Nassimbwa was unfazed at the weigh in that followed a workout by a mixture of 30 boxers and kickboxers who have registered to hone their talent with the academy.

"I have fought even bigger opponents so I will take her on, and I'm ready to teach her a few lessons," Nassimbwa said.

Turyanabo said she has been preparing for the past two months and was ready to showcase the efforts of hard work.

"I have trained a lot and I'm ready to show her what my trainers have taken me through. My aim is to face tough fighters internationally and win titles," Turyanabo stated.

Before, sounds of punches on punching bags mixed with rounds of shadow boxing filled the air as the pugilists worked out under the rising sun supervised by Moses Golola.

"We are looking forward to nurturing more talent and take them to the next level, we want to produce more champions who can represent Uganda in several competitions and I would like to thank all the people who have supported us," Golola said.

"We welcome all gender and children. We want to ensure a bright future for these children and we welcome all talents in martial arts,"
Former kick boxer Maliki Kaliisa donated some gloves and hand wraps to the academy and urged the boxers to always ensure they are disciplined however skillful they might be.
