Over 670 lawyers, half of whom are female, are set to graduate with diplomas in legal practice, law and human rights at the Law Development Centre at its 44th graduation ceremony slated for April 21 this year.

This was after the LDC management committee approved the graduation of at least 677 lawyers that were enrolled during the 2014/15 and 2015/16 academic years.

According to Everest Turyahikayo, the LDC academic registrar, the institution has registered a good overall performance, compared to the previous years.

The overall pass rate at the bar course is 52.4percent and 97percent for the diploma in law and human rights.

Charlotte Katuutu, the overall best student on the course with a 70.95 overall average, will receive the Chief Justice's Prize that comes with a set of relevant law books and a full set of the lawyer's attire, among other things.
