Simon Bahemuka's side won an unassailable 1,223 points

Hosts Greenhill Academy shot the works on this year's USF National Secondary Schools Swimming Championships and in the end there was clearly no team cut out to stop their bid for a three-peat! They have really set the bar high up.

Simon Bahemuka's side won an unassailable 1,223 points on Saturday at their swimming pool in Kibuli in a cast of talents from ten secondary schools that attended the third edition of the contest.

Namanya Ampaire, Tinisha Birungi and Mathew Odada were at the fore as Greenhill continued to dominate the relatively young championship.

Swimming in the age category of 14, Tinisha won 3 golds in 50m butterfly(40:95), 100m freestyle (1:24:30) and 100m butterfly (1:49:82). She also won three silvers in 200m IM, 50m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.

13-year old Namanya had 3 golds in 50m backstroke clocking 40:80, 100m freestyle (1:17:30), 100m backstroke (1:30.74).

19-year old Odada weighed in with 4 golds in the 50m freestyle (28:90), 100m backstroke (1:22.15) 100m freestyle (1:08.33) and 50m backstroke (37.58)

Plaxida Nakabanda made sure her presence was felt securing an unmatched 6 golds in the 12-13 age categories.

She won gold in 200m IM (3:30.38), 50M butterfly (44.09), 50m backstroke (46.32), 100m butterfly (1;48.40), 50M freestyle (37.53) and 100M backstroke (1;41.43). She also won 2 silvers in 100m breaststroke, and 50m breaststroke.

Taibah High's Jeremy Katende got 121 points standing out in the 14-15 boys category.

Edith Tendo from Seeta High School Main Campus had 124 points as her schoolmate Joel Mayengo stood highest in the 16 and over boys' category with 122 points.

The third edition attracted ten schools including; Green Hill Academy, Seeta Green Campus, Seeta High School Main Campus, Taibah Secondary School, Seeta High School Nama, St Marys College Kisubi, Uganda Martyrs Namugongo, Gayaza High School, Kings College Budo and Rubaga Girls Secondary School.
