His executive intends to address the issue of fairness on even other fronts like the criteria used to pick swimmers for international competitions

He has dedicated part of his life to the swimming sport and now after 20 years Tefiro Serunjogi feels there is need not only to continue supporting the sport but also streamlining its administration.

It is on this premise that he is offering himself for election to replace incumbent Donald Rukare who has been on the helm for over a decade.

But he is set to face an electorate whose composition he doesn't know and accordingly, efforts to know about the same has hit rock bottom with only five days to the elections.

Unveiling his manifesto to stakeholders on Sunday at Lugogo, Serunjogi said this was a sign of unfairness with the current administration and consequently it is among one of the key issues he intends to address if and when he assumes the association's chair.

"Fairness and transparency is critical aspect of any organization. If a federation is perceived as unfair, it loses its moral authority to, govern and lead its members. We can't go on with a federation that cannot lead us; we need a federation that we believe in," Serunjogi said.

He said his executive intends to address the issue of fairness on even other fronts like the criteria used to pick swimmers for international competitions and is also not happy with the appointment of a returning officer who constitutes one of the contestants.

"The playing field is not level but we are determined to build the sport we all love, it's a beautiful sport and many people have given their resources to it, and we can make it worthwhile," Serunjogi stated.

USF members' register as of December 2016, indicates there were 8 swimming clubs, 15 primary schools, 19 secondary schools and 5 tertiary institutions in good standing with the federation

Some of the highlights in his vision for the sport include; setting up of systems, promoting the growth of the sport across the country, Lobbying for space with stakeholders, partnering with other organisations like Bika and schools, improving record keeping and communication as well as developing plans to deliver critical facilities (Aquatic center).

Serunjogi was the founder chairman of the Dolphins Club and is currently the Seals Club chairman.
