All is set for the stadium to host its first match

Vipers FC club officials are anxiously waiting for CAF's clearance of St. Mary's Stadium in Kitende following another inspection by CAF Inspector Nicholas Musonye yesterday.

Musonye in company of proprietor Lawrence Mulindwa, deputy FUFA CEO Humphrey Mandu and vice president-youth Patrick Ogwel toured the facility which is now ready with covered stands and furnished dressing rooms and other amenities.

After the inspection, Musonye was impressed with what he had seen and promised to submit his report depending on what he has seen on the ground.

"I will make my report objectively but I'm definitely happy that we have such a facility in our region, if we can have similar ones in Kenya, Tanzania and elsewhere, football will grow; football can only develop with such facilities," Musonye noted.

"We need more investors like Mulindwa to help our youth develop their talents; this is a very good project but authorities in CAF are the ones who will pass it depending on the developments since their last visit,"

"Apart from Namboole FUFA can now talk to the management of the St. Mary's stadium to help them host international competitions," Musonye remarked.

Mulindwa said all was set for the stadium to host its first match and will now wait for CAF to decide.

"I have done the work I was supposed to do, I'm now waiting for CAF to decide accordingly, but we have tried to put whatever was required in place and now all depends on the report that the inspector will make; we are now eagerly awaiting the outcome" Mulindwa said.

"We are looking forward to hosting our first match here but we have to wait, it is our prayer that the report comes out as soon as possible so that we can adequately prepare for our match at the stadium,"

By the time CAF made their first inspection, work on the Southern wing was in progress but is all done now.

Besides having grand stands, the wing also has conference rooms, a hall of fame, offices, gym, beverage room and rest rooms that include an executive wing.
