Sharing got their campaign off to a flyer with a commanding victory against Benard Okello's Shoana.

They beat the Luweero outfit 5-1 on Saturday at Gayaza to go top of the log as the 2017 season got under way.

The Nsambya side's typically flawless defence created enough problems for Allan Kabenge and co. as David Arago pitched all the nine innings.

The strong armed pitcher dictated the game only allowing just 3 hits from Shoana by Ben Sserunkuuma, Umar Male and Allan Kabenge who would also then score a run for the relatively new side in Ugandan baseball.

The team entered the national league just a year ago!

Elsewhere a youthful Mehta Club came up big against Kyambogo Buffalos, routing them 10-7 in the second game at the home of Uganda baseball in Gayaza.

Ivan Asea pitched 3 innings with third baseman Justine Makisimo running the distance, making 4 runs for Henry Odong's side.

Fresh from South Africa in the MLB camp, Andrew Namwanja was a beauty to watch sparkling with new skills and approach to the game, making some important steals and hits for Kyambogo who are looking for a revival.
