Buikwe She Red Stars have been demoted to the regional league from the FUFA Women Elite League.
This follows their failure to honour three league matches against Kawempe Muslim, Western United and London Stallions.
FUFA Competitions department confirmed the development in a release to the chairman/CEO of Buikwe.
"I can confirm that, by time of demotion, your club has played less than 50% of the league i.e. not completed the first round of the league. Therefore, article 24(10) of FUFA Competitions Rules has been invoked, it states as follow; If a club withdraws or is dismissed /demoted from a competition of the league format when it has played less than 50% of the league, the results involving the withdrawn or dismissed club shall be nullified.
"Thus, all results from teams that played with Buikwe She Red Stars will be expunged from the table standing. Should you feel aggrieved by the decision, you are at liberty of appealing to FUFA Disciplinary Committee within 7 days from the date of communication of the current decision."
Buikwe who were the runners up of the first edition of the league lost a number of players before this season started.
