Volleyball transfer window closes

Feb 14, 2017

UCU, VVC and Sport-S men and women clubs have signed the most players.

Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) player transfers have concluded with universities leading in the recruitment of players during the January 2017 window.

UCU, VVC and Sport-S men and women clubs have signed the most players.

VVC women whose form drastically dropped last year for the first time since their inception have signed Goljok Kau, Sandra Nanziri, and Margaret Namyalo from Ndejje University.

Irene Amoding's move from Nkumba Navy though is in balance as the losing club is hesitant to approve the transfer. Remegious Ocabal and Mohamud Angiro from Matrixx join the men's side.

UCU men, who struggled to create an impression in the top league before the organisers called it off, have strengthened with Deogratius Kedi(Sky VC), Deogratius Anguria(Matrixx), Johnson Rukundo(KCCA), Isaac Omongin (Airforce), Jonathan Tumukunde(Mulago).

Despite recruiting only one female player -Angela Nakiryowa from Espoir VC, UCU have released Esther Tumwebaze and Naboth Ahurira to Sport-S VC.

Sport-S' interest in Barbara Yapsoyekwo hangs in balance because Nkumba Navy officials cannot release the player.

Sport-S women have also got Shamim Makongoro from VVC. Sport-S men have continued to maintain a low profile with Hassan Kayiwa and Simon Golola as the only new names to the team.
