The Vice President Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has urged parents to, regardless of the difficulties they are confronted with, spare some time to communicate, discipline and guide their children if they are to have a future they will be proud of.

He said that in today's dynamic and financially demanding world, hard decisions have to be made to balance between financial and career endeavors and family grooming if children are to be guided on the future path they should take.

Ssekandi was speaking at the wedding of Mushabe Mark, son to Ambassador Frank Katungwe, and Twinomugisha Faith that took place at All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero Kampala today.

The Vice President commended the two families for raising children in the fear of God and urged the newlywed couple to keep to the guidance and instructions they have received from their parents as they start their new family as husband and wife.

He also reminded them that marriage was not a smooth deal and that each family had its unique challenges but urged them to always trust in God, be faithful and only listen and consult those they trust saying many marriages have been broken due to bad advice.

While presiding over the ceremony, West Ankole Bishop Yona Katonene said that the only sanctified union in marriage is between a man and woman and commended the Government and people of Uganda for standing against the promotion of homosexuality in the country.

The function was also attended by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanya, Minister for Kampala Betty Kamya, other Ambassadors and government officials.
