Functions including Kwanjula, weddings, counties' functions will attract only two stanzas; the first and fourth

The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi has made adjustments to how and where the Buganda anthem (Ekitiibwa kya Buganda) will be sung.

Five stanzas will be sung on only three occasions that include the Kabaka's birthday celebration, coronation anniversary and the opening of the Lukiiko.

Other occasions where the Kabaka will be attending the congregation is supposed to sing only three stanzas; the first, fourth and fifth.

The other Buganda functions including Kwanjula, weddings, counties' functions will attract only two stanzas; the first and fourth.

"At the closure of all the above functions and celebrations the fifth stanza only will be sung and that is a directive from the Kabaka of Buganda" the Kabaka said in a letter read by the Katikiiro Charles Peter Mayiga.

Mayiga made the explanation at a presentation to members of the Lukiiko at Bulange, Mengo on Monday.
