Volleyball: KAVC intensify season preps

Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) have intensified preparations for this year's volleyball season with buildup matches against their own different teams.

KAVC organised a one-day tournament and KAVC team two won 2-1 after beating KAVC team four.

They beat team four 25-16, 19-25 and 15-11 in the finals played at their home ground in Lugogo.

Club official Cissy Musiime said they did it to keep their players focused after a long dormant season last year that had no league.

"We are every preparing our boys and girls with different competitions and this is what keeps our team strong year by year and staying together as a community or family," she said.

The competition, added Musiime, also helped them test the new young players the club has got from schools.

Uganda Volleyball Federation held elections this month and will start organising competitions on their calendar activities.
