Police detain Alur kingdom chief over rape

Police in Nebbi have arrested the prime minister of Kalwango chiefdom in the Alur kingdom, Cirlo Okwonga, over alleged rape of a disabled woman.

Nebbi District Police Commander, Fred Ahimbisibwe, said investigations into the alleged rape are ongoing.

He said a rape charge would be preferred against the suspect and he would be arraigned in court soon.
