I quit my well-paying job to save my marriage

Jan 06, 2017

I stormed in and found them redhanded. My husband was so apologetic that he organised our wedding in three months.

He approached me right after we had finished university. Within a month I was pregnant because I thought he was the one. After all I had graduated.

We started staying together. After our son was borne, I went to my mother's house to learn how to take care of my baby, leaving my housemaid at home with my boyfriend.

When I returned after a month, one of my neighbours told me that my maid kept complaining about my husband raping her. I kept my calm and when my baby was six months, I claimed that I was taking him to the village for a visit but stayed at my neighbour's house to monitor my husband's movements.

The following day was a working day but he did not go to work. At around midday my neighbour who was helping me snoop around said she had heard sexual noises coming from one of the bedrooms.

I stormed in and found them redhanded. My husband was so apologetic that he organised our wedding in three months.

Two months after our wedding, I quit my auditor position to stay home because I did not want to risk hiring another maid since my husband would want to sleep with her. But my friends are calling me stupid for being a housewife yet I had a good job. Did I make the right decision?
