IN MWALIMU . . .


Makerere College School has for the last three years been saving a percentage of its students' school fees. Unlike several other traditional public schools, Makerere College has invested the savings in a massive, master-class wonder.

The parents, who toiled with the payments, are having the last reason to smile at this school! What exactly is the school coming up with?

‘Skills, vocational education to define Uganda education'

Meanwhile, determined to improve an educational system beset by challenges, the newly appointed education ministry permanent secretary Alex Kakooza says there is great need to refocus the country's education; to produce skilled and all-round students.  

Poverty, hunger, disease, and brutal strife all impact access to learning in Uganda. But, Kakooza says that it will require the support of everyone, to transform the country's education system.
