Mubiru, who has never won a national rally championship (NRC) title, wants to win it this season

After having a bad 2016 season, rally ace Duncan Mubiru is switching from a Mitsubishi Evo 10 to his former Subaru Impreza N14.

Mubiru disclosed this to New Vision after winning the Champions Sprint at Festino Cite Mukono on Boxing Day.

"I'm going back to my Subaru which is a more reliable car than Evos and I will be starting the 2017 NRC championship title chase in the Mbarara rally in a Subaru N14," Mubiru said.

Mubiru, who has never won a national rally championship (NRC) title, wants to win it this season starting with the Mbarara rally next month.

He will however face tough competition from defending champion Jas Mangat, 2015 champion and Shell Helix ambassador Arthur Blick Jr., three times NRC champion and Shell V-Power driver, Ronald Ssebuguzi and the Hima cement sponsored driver Ambrose Byona aka Omunyeeto.
